As it is likely that I will be more dependent upon my intelligence rather than my athletic talent to earn a living, my main priority in seeking a college will be the quality of that institution's academic reputation. That said, I highly value a balanced life. I cannot conceive of a life of complete focus on either academics or athletics. Both academic and athletic acheivement should be part of a balanced quality college experience. I have played baseball since age 5. For me, baseball is what signals the arrival of spring each year. As I have striven to play baseball as well as challenge my mind in the classroom all my life, I hope to continue to do the same in college. I have not met one adult who competed in college athletics who did not feel that being on their team made them a better person.
