Representing the Class of 2027, I am a two-way player specializing in the outfield, primarily center, and serving as a left-handed pitcher. My pitching speed ranges from 80 to 84 mph. My time for the 60-yard dash measures 6.7 seconds. This is my second year at the Delaware Military Academy and petty officer second class (PO2).
One of my goals is to play college baseball for 4 years and invite my grandfather to watch me play. My grandfather has a huge influence on me and I want to make him proud. My grandfather played baseball for over 20+ years in Virginia and was inducted into the Black Baseball League Hall of Fame. I was privileged enough to attend and see him get honored.
Another goal is to get a college degree. I've been taught that a college degree allows for more opportunities and success in life which I desire.
What makes me a good candidate to your team -- I want to stand out, lead by example and I have very good work ethics. I am also a team player and will always help my teammates to make sure they are being their best and involved with the team. Academics is always a priority and maintaining a solid, high gpa is my priority.
What makes me different from other recruits -- I am a leader. I like to keep my team up and make sure nobody is down in the dugout. For example, when the game goes sideways, I am one who shared the following with my teammates..." it's time to get focused, no more playing around." I say these things because I don't want to see my teammates fail and to be honest, I prefer not to lose. Lessons I have learned as a leader, I often pass along to my teammates -- perseverance, positive attitude, and giving your best at all times. I also lead by example -- I am the first to take the field and talk to every teammate to make sure they are in the game, focused and ready to win.
