Hello,
My name is Evan Bizik. I’m a right-handed pitcher and utility player from the state of Florida, and I have an inherent passion for baseball. Baseball has been my everything since the time when I was really little. I began my love of the sport by cheering on my then-hometown team, the Arizona Diamondbacks. My family and I would go to Chase Field to watch D-backs games and I just took it all in! Being able to wear D-backs uniforms as part of the local Little League team was the highlight of my springs, and attending D-backs camps was an essential part of my youthful summers. When I started playing baseball, my dream was to be a catcher, and this dream inspired me to play on club teams, where I eventually found my true love: pitching. For the past several years, I have honed my pitching skills and have really developed a sinker/slider mix and have been working on a much-improved changeup and cutter! I’m so glad baseball is a year-round sport in Florida so I can play this game all year!
Even when I’m not on the field, I’m watching live games, playing MLB The Show, or watching any videos on YouTube related to the sport I cherish so dearly. Besides being fun entertainment, these activities help me to become a great player on the field because through them I watch pros and other players to see what they are doing and understand what is working for them so I can use that knowledge to help me on the field. (These activities also provide knowledge I can use to enrich my interests in sports medicine and sportscasting, topics I’m interested in pursuing in college.) Baseball is an intimate part of my everyday life and is as natural as breathing—I can’t imagine a day without it.
Even though baseball is part of my nature, I dedicate myself to becoming better at it. My love for the game doesn’t stop on the field, either. On days I’m not playing, I’m in the gym, throwing bullpens, or in the cages training. Furthermore, my work ethic on the field and in the classroom is very much the same; I train and study very hard to get the best results. I am dedicated to becoming the best student athlete I can be.
Lastly, I value being a brother, son, friend, and teammate—I enjoy being part of a group and love being around the people I care about! I love celebrating others’ successes and helping my teammates and friends be the best they can be. I’m ready to positively influence this world on and off the field!
I’m looking forward to an opportunity to play baseball in college, and I would welcome an opportunity to meet with you to show you my passion for this amazing sport.
Respectfully,
Evan Bizik
