My intent is first and foremost to get the absolute best college education I can, and I have worked very hard in high school to help make that happen. During the last year I have been inducted into the National Honor Society and I presently have a 4.33/5.00 GPA in A.P./Honors subjects. I believe I am best suited to study STEM type subjects, and generally my talents lie in that broad area. I have been given a solid foundation for work and study habits by my parents (my dad is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and college professor and my mom is a nurse/case manager)), and that opportunity also carries over into my approach to the game of baseball. Since very early in my playing career, I have always been interested in mechanics and doing things correctly, and I continue to work very hard in achieving and maintaining a solid swing to make hard, consistent contact. I take training and nutrition very seriously and each day, I am lifting weights and working on my swing to perfect it. I'm also always working on my fielding and throwing, and I continue to achieve better and better results there as well. I can play several positions including catcher, 1B, 2B and the outfield and I am a team player. I'll play wherever we have the best chance to win. Even during the pandemic. I took the opportunity to turn a "negative" into a "positive", and spent hours working alone when we couldn't play together in my backyard getting better and better. I believe that I can be a very good addition to a team, and I believe that my character as a person and good teammate can only have a positive impact on the entire group. I take nothing for granted and I'm willing to earn it - period.
Sincerely,
Gabe Del Fuoco
