Clay Rowland '22 Recruiting Profile

I would describe myself as a very competitive, goal-driven, and coachable team player that’s thankful to have been blessed with success in several sports since youth leagues and up to the most current varsity levels. I am confident that I can play at the most competitive level and immediately contribute to winning ballgames. I’ll share a little of my background below, but I’ll also go ahead and answer your question of why I may not be on your radar.  I enjoy competing in several sports with year round obligations that have limited my exposure outside of Middle Georgia and didn’t allow me to dedicate my fall and summers to the travel ball “circuit” as a “baseball only” guy.   When I’m not already devoting 12 months to football, basketball, baseball, and track, I’m either hunting, fishing, or spending time with family. I‘m excited about the opportunity to dedicate my skills to my favorite sport of baseball and seek my potential at the collegiate level.

I am a multi-sport varsity 4 year Letterman in Football (QB, SS), Basketball (SG), Baseball (SS, CF, P, UT) Track & Field (100M, 4x100M, HJ, LJ), and 2 year Letterman on Shooting Team.  Also as a current high school senior, I have pending  nominations for the Heisman High School Scholarship Nominee and the United Way Golden Eagle Award for Athletics.

I attend Tattnall Square Academy in Macon, Ga, which has been ranked one of the TOP 25 HS Baseball Dynasties in America, currently holds 11 State Baseball Championship titles, and Consistently Ranked in TOP 15 of All Georgia High Schools

2021-2022 (Senior Year in Progress) Varsity Football, Team Captain, QB/ Defensive Back; Macon Touchdown Club Back of the Week; Macon Telegraph‘s Middle Georgia High School Football Top Athlete Nominee; 1st Team All-Region; Top 10 All-Time Season Passing School Record; All-Region 1st Team; Finished with 9-2 Record.

Varsity Basketball, Team Captain, SG/SF, 2nd Team All-Region Honors

Varsity Baseball, Team Captain, SS/RHP, Georgia Dugout Club Pre-Season 1st Team All-State, Team Ranked GHSA Top 20 Georgia, Top 5 Class A, and 1st in Class A Private.

2020-2021 (Junior Year) Varsity Football WR/SS, All-Region.  Varsity Basketball, SG, All-Region 2nd Team.  Varsity Baseball, GHSA Region 1A Champions and Final 8 State Tournament, Leadoff Batter, Regular Season Batting Avg .411, Led Team 6 HRs and 28 RBIs, 18 SB, All-Region 1st Team, All-State 2nd Team, Region Player of Year Nominee, Finished 24-5.  Varsity Track, competed in State Championship for 100yd Dash, 4x100m Relay, and High Jump, Currently hold Tattnall's 100m fastest time record Milesplit 11.1 sec and High Jump 6'3".  Shooting Team, finished 3rd in State Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays.

2019-2020 (Sophomore Year) Varsity Football, WR/SS, All Region Honorable Mention.  Varsity Basketball, SG, All-Region Honorable Mention.  Varsity Baseball (COVID Ended Baseball Season Early with 11-4 Record and as favorite for 3rd State Championship Title in Consecutive Years), started at 2B, Team was Ranked as high as 24th in Nation, 3rd in Georgia, and 1st in GHSA Class A High Schools.

2018-2019 (Freshman Year) Varsity Football, Basketball, and Baseball Letterman.  GHSA Region 1A and Class A State Baseball Champions, Finished 35-3.
