Playing baseball has taught me that individual practice is required beside team practice to elevate my game to be competitive. Working as a team and bringing my teammates up after an error is important to me. Mental toughness and preparation plays a large role in being successful in baseball and in life.
I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.2.
I am interested in pursuing a career in Sports Medicine, specializing in Physical Therapy and hope to attend a college that will provide an excellent course in my field of study.
Living on an island poses many obstacles; there is just one school here which enrolls students from kindergarten to high school. We are required to travel via ferry or airplane to the outer islands to play other schools in all sports that are offered. I also belong to two traveling club teams in both baseball and basketball which provides us more exposure and game experience. Although I live on a small island with limitations, my mental attitude and skill set have made me very competitive when participating in clinics, camps and outer island games.
Unique characteristics that I possess are being able to accept failure or a loss as a learning experience to improve on my game. I view my opponents as teammates that will improve my skills and ultimately make me a better athlete.
