Andrew Payton '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is AJ Payton, and I’m currently a junior at Burlington Central High School. I have played on the Varsity team my first two years. My bigger dream is to play college baseball and later play at the professional level. Since I was eight years old, I’ve spent my summer and fall seasons on the baseball field and, for the past four years, I’ve worked my hitting, fielding, and personal fitness programs year-round.  While I am a highly versatile player with the ability to play any position, my passion is for pitcher and firstbase.

My discipline in my training is matched by my grades in school. My current unweighted GPA is 3.9, and my weighted GPA is 4.1. I take the most challenging classes available and, even during remote learning, have been able to successfully balance my course work with my after school training and practices, which has earned me a spot on my school’s honor roll. Being a full year younger than my peers, I am proud of what I’ve accomplished both on the field and in school.

I am eager to talk to coaches who can help me reach my dreams and looking forward to showing them more about how I can be an asset to your school’s team.
