I've had a passion for the game of baseball ever since I started playing when I was 5 years old. My love for the game has grown since then, as I continue to be a student of the game. I am constantly learning and paying attention to the little aspects of every game I play. My dream is to continue to play baseball at the highest level my work ethic and ability to compete will get me to, preferably at a college that will not only be a good fit for me athletically but academically as well.
I currently attend Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois. I excel in all of my honors and AP level classes and am in the is for the top 50 students in my class out of 1100. I am proud of my hard work and perseverance in the classroom and on the field.
Being a primary pitcher has given me the time to work on and focus on each skill I have while also helping out my team with drills. I am a team player and enjoy helping out at practices after I’ve thrown and done all my work. I have 4 pitches that I am confident throwing for strikes in most counts which allows me to take on any hitter.
I am excited to see what comes next in my athletic career and believe that I can be valuable asset to any program.

Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament
12/20/19 to 12/22/19
Ryan is a solid, athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. He stands over the rubber well, is around the plate with all of his pitches. Fastball showed a range of 79-82 mph with sinking action and is sneaky fast. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and works both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Ryan has an upside on the mound with time and room to progress his game.

Perfect Game 2019 National Underclass Showcase - Main Event
12/28/19 to 12/30/19
Ryan Wong is a 2021 RHP/ with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Lane Technical School. Slender and angular build with lots of room to add strength and fill out physically. Primary righthanded pitcher with a longer take back and extends well toward the plate. Smooth operation with repeatable mechanics and gets downhill well. Quick arm with good rhythm and pacing. Throws a lot of strikes and pounds the zone with the fastball. Works the edges of the plate well and shows tight spin and late break on the slider. Curveball shows good shape too with excellent command of three pitches. Mixes speeds and has a good approach on the mound. Tremendous student.

PBR Top Prospect - Milwaukee
7/16/20 to 7/16/20
From the Chicago area, RHP Ryan Wong (Lane Tech) looks like an emerging name to know on the summer circuit. His fastball averaged 82.8 mph (with a max of 85 mph), per TrackMan, at a spin rate range of 2,300 to 2,500 RPM – a number that suggests it can miss some bats on its own. His breaking ball also showed some of the day’s best bite and action, at 73 mph, 2,400 RPM. Factor in Wong’s fluid, loose, and quick arm, as well as his athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame, the Lane Tech right-hander feels like one of the day’s big winners.
2021 Top Prospect List - Wong sat 84-87 mph with a heavy cut fastball and a sharp, 12/6 curveball with late bite. The senior utilizes a balanced and controlled operation with an explosive lower half, and certainly won't be uncommitted for long.

PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase
2/21/21 to 2/21/21
If you are in the mix for a quality high-academic arm, RHP Ryan Wong (Lane Tech) fits the mold. Wong has an athletic, 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame and has continued to see his velocity climb over the last year. Last January, Wong sat 81-82 mph at the McHenry Preseason ID. On Sunday, Wong’s fastball sat 86-87 mph with a max spin rate of 2563 rpm while spinning an above-average slider at 76-77 mph (2412 max rpm).

Baseball Factory Pre-Season All American Tournament
1/15/21 to 1/17/21
Ryan is a tall RHP prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. On the mound, Ryan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Ryan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 70-73mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 74-75mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Ryan performed well during his outing, striking out 9 of the 15 batters he faced without allowing a hit. Overall, Ryan is a talented prospect who has the skill set and pitch mix to get batters out at the next level.
