Hello, my name is Wyatt Beasley, I am currently a sophomore attending Crab Orchard High School in rural southern Illinois. My parents and I live on our beef cattle farm where we manage and market 3,500 head of cattle annually. When I am not at school or playing baseball, I work 8 to 10 hours each day on the farm. Working on the farm has taught me to have a strong work ethic, which would make me a unique candidate for any baseball program.
I began playing baseball at the age of 7. Since then, my love for the game and skill level have increased each year. I believe that team success is much more important than personal achievements, and my desire to win drives me to pursue my goals even further. Throughout my academic career, I have always maintained a high grade point average. I am a firm believer that academic success is just as important as athletic success.
I am also a Type 1 Diabetic, diagnosed when I was 6 years old. With the support of my parents and doctors, I have been able to effectively manage and control my diabetes. It has not hindered me from me being able to play baseball at all. Having to deal with this challenge, has taught me the importance of being regimented and disciplined.
I am confident that all of the traits I have mentioned make me a strong candidate for being a college baseball player. I am looking forward to the opportunity to further my baseball and academic career.
