Personal Statement
I’m from a military family and this has influenced me to be a leader, have a strong work ethic and to never give up. When I was 4 years old, I attended my first Major League Baseball game in St. Louis, MO where I watched the Cardinals vs. White Sox. From that moment, I fell in love with the game of baseball. Most nights, you could find me in the front yard with other neighborhood kids playing a pick-up game of baseball.
At the age of 7 years old, I was playing for our local youth league baseball team and I was invited to try out for a local travel team. I made the team, and ever since I have desired to play a higher level of baseball competition. Currently, I am playing for the 17U BNBA Gold team in Bloomington, IL.
My dedication, drive and coachability, have been the keys to my success as an athlete. I’m a 3 sport athlete and compete in baseball, basketball and football. I’ve been selected as team captain 6 times, and have had successful seasons in each sport I compete at.
- Baseball: Centerfield, Outfield and Pitcher (Varsity starter sophomore year with Sectional Semi-Final appearance)
- Basketball: Shooting guard (Played Varsity sophomore year)
- Football: Wide Receiver and Safety (Football played on Varsity sophomore year, and Varsity starter Junior year)
I love the process of growing and developing my skills. Staying engaged with my teammates, and having that mutual support and encouragement has helped me to grow as person, and a player. As a student, I work hard to maintain a high grade point average, and will continue to strive to keep my grades above a 4.5/5 grade point average throughout my high school and college career. I’m confident, I would make a valuable addition to your team because I am a fierce competitor, a strong leader and I have a desire to continuously grow and contribute to the success of your team.
