My love for the game started at the young age of 4. Growing up, I was raised as a basketball player but also played baseball in my free time. Although I still played basketball, I was losing the drive for the game and started growing more fond for baseball and worked to get better in it every day. Last year I officially gave up basketball so I can focus on baseball and pursue my dreams to play at the next level. My close teammate once said "To be successful, you need to get at least 1% better everyday." Ever since then, I have lived by that quote asking myself if I really did get that 1% better. If I answered no, I would take those few extra reps so I could meet my daily goal of getting better. Day in and day out I work to my full potential in strive for the success of me and most importantly, my team.
As a baseball player, I am very knowledgeable about the game. I am a fast, athletic center fielder, often stunning people with my range. I start in center, but am also able to play the corner spots. I also am a left handed pitcher. On the offensive side, I bat lead off and have a great bunting ability. I can sac bunt to better my team, but also bunt for a base hit. While on base, I am a very aggressive base runner with the ability to get quick jumps off the bag.
Aside from playing baseball, I dedicate my time to studying academics. As a student athlete, I know grades are my top priority for College. I am a Junior this year and I'm planning to take the ACT. I have high expectations within myself and will be taking many prep classes to make sure I can meet my own expectations and goals for the test. I am in all honors classes, also one Advanced Placement Class. Obviously, baseball is my dream job and my goal is to go with it as far as I can, but that is not always the case with some individuals. If that is the case with myself, I would like to dedicate my time in studying the field of Physical Therapy because I would love to continue my life being involved with sports and fitness, while also helping people. I soon plan on volunteering throughout the year doing community service and other things for my school and town.
