Madison Donovan '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Madison Donovan and i am a incoming junior and McHenry West high school. I have been playing competitive golf since I was 8 years old and I plan on playing collegiate golf too.The game of golf runs through my family blood, my grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins all play too. They are the people who inspire me to reach for my goals each and every day  Learning about the game is one of my favorite things to do, from the strategic side to the mental side. Golf is the sport I dedicate to my commitment and most of the time too. I have been taking private lessons since I was 14 years old and I have noticed a significant change in my swing. Not only on the golf course but also on my score card too. I average the low eighties for eighteen holes. Some of my current tournament experiences include MCJGA which is my local tournaments that I have completed with over 5 wins every season, the Junior PGA tour, IJGA, and MAJGA. I have also participated in the Indiana elite Midwest golf showcase for two consecutive years . I am working on making the right and most effective decision on the golf course and improving my attitude and confidence as a golfer. My collegiate goals are to be apart of a team that feels like a family, a team that will challenge me and motive me to strive for small improvements each day and improve my weaknesses. 

My education and school work is just as important as my athletic needs. I maintain a 3.8 GPA in the classroom and I have found success in working hard for the right education. I like to challenge my overall thinking skills with honors classes and extracurricular activities such as clubs. School work has taught me valuable lessons in life such as flexibility, not being afraid to ask for help, and most importantly communication. School had brought me many cherish-able friendships and incredible opportunity's. Just like school golf is the sport that brings together friendships opportunity's like nothing else. I take pride in hard work and making the most out of every day on the golf course. I would enjoy going to a school that benefits my choice of interest and will provide me with a strong foundation to succeed.
