Kye Jacobs - SS -...Personal Statement
I started playing baseball when I was five years old. I instantly fell in love with the game and knew that I wanted to go to the next level. I have been playing travel baseball in the open/major division since I was eight. Strengthening my skills and improving my game have always been a top priority for me. I have been taking hitting and pitching lessons as well as infield skills training classes since I was ten. My coaches and instructors would tell you that I am a quick learner, very coachable, have a high baseball IQ and I am above average in speed. I recently began strength training where I am focusing on a program that was designed specifically for me by Dr. Jamey Gordon. This program is designed to help me gain strength and build muscle. I am also learning to focus on nutrition. I am a three sport athlete with a very strong work ethic. I am normally participating in two sports at the same time and my baseball workouts are year round. I understand that all this hard work is necessary and critical in helping me prepare for the next level.

- I have been working with Jay Lehr out of ProX in Westfield Indiana since I was 10 years old consistently. Jay has worked with Lance Lynn also since he was about 10 years old. Jay has been a huge reason for my success on the mound over the last several years and we continue to work with him all year long.

- I have been going to a hitting instructor since I was 9 years olds consistently and also attend hitting classes at ProX in Westfield Indiana. I first worked with Rick Stiner who has done this for over 20 years and moved to Billy Jones for infield and hitting a couple years ago. Billy has a son in the MLB named Ryder Jones that played a couple years until being moved to Triple A recently. Billy has helped me recently with bat path and hitting to all sides of the field. While we know it is work in progress, we continue to work on it all year long even with other two sports.

- Strength training started 2 months ago with Jamey Gordon out of ProX Athlete in Westfield Indiana. Th program was built for Kye based on him being in basketball and also being a pitcher. We will continue to do strength training weekly from this point forward. They use a program/App called Train Heroic to track progress and to tell him when to increase weight.
