Ethan McCarthy '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Ethan McCarthy. I am a 17 year old french immersion student in a catholic high school and an elite baseball player in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

I am a dedicated, responsible student athlete who is able to balance a full academic course load as well as play competitive baseball.  I enjoy learning as much as I can and take advantage of every opportunity presented to me in school and life. I am devoted to playing baseball at the highest level that I can.

I come from a very athletic family who exposed me to numerous sports at a young age, and thanks to that exposure I found something I cared greatly about, baseball.

Through baseball I have learned the value of hardwork, perseverance, teamwork, and not giving up, this has helped me in all aspects of my life.

Academically, I am an honor student in the academic stream. I continue to strive towards another honor roll semester this year as I take my education very seriously.  In college, I am aiming to get a bachelors in Education focusing on mathematics, french and history. 

In 2018 I played Elite U16 baseball in Peterborough, ON.  Our team lost in the quarter finals on the Ontario Championships.  Prior to that my travel baseball team won our league championship and finished second in Ontario for our division.   I have started both as a sophmore and freshman for my high school baseball team and in 2017 we won our regional championship. These achievements have left me with a winning mentality and persona that I can bring to any team I am a member of.
