Tui Amosa '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Tui Amosa and I am a graduate of the class of 2022 from Auckland, New Zealand. I attend Botany Downs Secondary College and play baseball for the Howick-Pakuranga Hawks. I play outfield as my primary position and 1st base as a second option, while batting on the left side of the plate (lefty hitter). 

Growing up I had developed a passion for baseball at the age of 6, where I had been placed on a tee-ball diamond and had fell in love with the game ever since. Progressing through the grades to play at the highest level of baseball in Auckland, Premier Grade where I had made my debut at the age of 15. In doing so it has presented opportunities for me to showcase my talents along the way, on both the national & international stage, being selected for the 12U, 16U, & 18U New Zealand national teams.  Having been trained by high level coaches and experienced national/international play it has given me exposure to the next level, where I am confident to take on collegiate baseball. 

One thing coaches will get from me is a player that is willing to compete. Having experienced the competitive aspect the sport brings, it has allowed me to develop the drive and motivation to develop and sharpen my skills in all areas of the game, both physically and mentally. My goal is to play baseball at an NJCAA program, along with pursuing my studies in my chosen field of geo and sport sciences. My competitive approach on the diamond is something that I take in the classroom as well, as I am willing to work hard and face the challenges that are presented both on and off the field. Because of this I am not worried or startled by the college environment, and am confident that I am able to adapt swiftly. I am a baseball player that puts the team’s needs first and one that is not afraid to step up when ‘the game is on the line’.
