My name is Alex Swack, I am 6'3'' and weigh 245 pounds. I have been playing the game of baseball since I can remember. I always love being able to go out on the field and compete. Growing up, I was always told that I have the potential to go places with my pitching ability. I've always been able to hit my spots and paint the corners. Being able to do this as a left-handed pitcher makes me much more of a weapon. By the time I got to high school, I started to take what my past coaches and current coaches have been telling me very seriously. In just around a year, I was able to gain around 100 pounds to my total weight lifted in the weight room, but most importantly, I have developed a better feel for throwing the ball.
I am very motivated to play baseball in college. In school, I have taken
Considering school size, I naturally lean towards a bigger school because I grew up in a big college town. All though, the size of the school is not a big factor by any means. I am open to any size school. Geographically, I have no preference where I would like to attend school. If the right opportunity presented itself for me, I would choose the best path that would allow me to play at a competitive level under great coaches and study my desired major regardless of location. As far as my classes in college, I want to major in Computer Engineering. I have taken multiple Project Lead the Way course at my high school which led me to choose this as my major. My family does qualify for financial aid.
In my free time, I am employed at a local grocery store in my city and participated in Boy Scouts. During my time as a Boy Scout, I was able to achieve the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Earning this rank I say would be my best achievement so far.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read my personal statement and good luck in your next season.
