Personal Statement
Baseball is a huge part of my life that I have been playing as far as I can remember. I started playing competitively with the Iowa Sticks when I was 8 years old and have been playing with them at the highest level every year since
I would play baseball every day if I could. I cannot get enough baseball. I love to practice and challenge myself to get a little bit better every day. I will do whatever it takes to reach my goal of playing baseball at the highest level I can.
I have many great qualities to bring to a team. I am very coachable and I will do whatever it takes to help the team. I lead by example with my work ethic in practice and strive to compete on the field to make both myself and my teammates better. I have a positive attitude and I have always had great relationships with both my coaches and teammates.
I am currently participating in the Iowa Sticks High School Fall Program which consists of bat speed enhancement training, 60 yard dash training, throwing, velocity, fielding, yoga, and working out on my own to get stronger, quicker, and more athletic. Within the last 12 months my throwing velocity has increased 8 mph, exit velocity increased 10 mph, I trimmed .5 seconds off my 60 yard dash time, and I was named to Perfect Game’s High Follow List. With my desire to outwork the competition, I believe my statistics will continue to improve.
I am also looking forward to starting my High School baseball career this Spring with Johnston High School. Johnston plays at the largest school level in Iowa, has produced multiple collegiate commits and state championships over the last few years, and is a very respected baseball program in Iowa. Johnston had become a baseball factory for collegiate baseball and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
I am looking forward to finding a school that will provide me with a great education and give me the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level.
