Personal Statement
Growing up with two older brothers who were very competitive and loved playing sports influenced me to follow in their footsteps. Whenever they were playing backyard games with their friends I would always ask to join. This is were I fell in love with sports, especially baseball. I am currently a 3 sport High School athlete (baseball, football and basketball.) Although these are three very different sports, I know that each one helps me reach the goals I've set to be the best I can be for whichever sport I'm participating in at the time. A lesson I learned from one of my youth coaches and one that I still live by today is there are three things you always can control: Always give 100% effort, be coachable, and be a good teammate. I have applied these three things not only to sports but to my everyday life. In school my goal has always been to do better than the year before and that will remain throughout high school and into college. At this time my goal is to graduate from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting.
I would say I was not necessarily gifted with height. I've always been one of the shortest on my team. Some people and even some coaches consider this an obstacle, but I consider it an advantage. My low center of gravity helps with my strength and quickness. Along with my athletic abilities, I always bring energy and get everyone involved in the task at hand. At the same time as being focused at the task, I make it enjoyable not just for me but the people around me as well.
