2024 SpotlightGrowing up, many influential people have poured into the person I am today; however, my favorite lessons have always been learned at the baseball field alongside my closest friends. Baseball has taught me a lot about hard work, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance. It is my dream to continue to invest in my future while playing the game I love at the collegiate level.
Being a catcher for the last 6 years has taught me to be coachable and challenged me to become a better player by focusing on the fundamentals and staying disciplined in all situations. My coaches have helped me to develop an awareness of the game, player positioning, and field conditions. My strong work ethic and desire have given me the drive to become more physically and mentally tough helping me continue to strive to be better than I was the day before.
Playing baseball in a small, rural community in Western Kansas on teams with few players, I quickly realized the value each teammate offered to the team's success. While other teams often view that as a weakness, I always value the opportunity to receive more repetitions and intentional support from coaches while spending quality time with my teammates. My experience to date and my high standards for my level of play have helped me develop the heart of a champion.
Ultimately, I love the game. I love being challenged by knowledgeable players and coaches. I want to be part of a program with a similar passion for playing the game. I am excited about the opportunity to play for a coach that can help me further develop my skillset as a catcher, but most importantly, I wish to play for a team that encourages me to win with integrity both on and off the field.
