My name is Trevor McNaughton.  I am a 2022 high school graduate and am looking forward to my upcoming college experience.  My collegiate goals and aspirations include obtaining a degree in business and possibly an MBA and growing personally while also preparing myself for my future, making new friends, and playing baseball.  I have learned so many life lessons over the years through baseball.  I have learned about the importance of teamwork, about building relationships with coaches and teammates, about the importance of preparation and attention to details, about the importance of hard work and discipline, about always giving your best, about overcoming adversity, and about so many other important lessons that have shaped who I am today.  I hope to continue pursuing my favorite sport of baseball and continue learning and growing through playing baseball beyond high school.

I believe I would be a great addition to your team for several reasons.  I am a team player and put the needs of the team first.  As a player, I am very versatile as I have experience playing several positions.  I have played all 9 positions for at least a game or two at some point in my baseball career, and I have extensive playing time at 4 positions (2B, SS, 3B, catcher).  I have also played highly competitive baseball since I was a youth, so I am used to playing with pressure while maintaining my composure and helping others feel at ease.  I am highly competitive and exhibit a winner/champion mentality.  I believe success comes from working hard to prepare for the moment.  I have been fortunate to play when an important game was at stake.  I really enjoy the competition and the opportunity to excel during these pressure situations, whether at the plate or in the field.  While I play baseball for the love of the game, I also bring a solid work ethic and a commitment to myself and my team to be the best I can be each day, to give everything I have in practice and in games, and to strive to improve not only in my athletic abilities but also as a teammate, as a person, and as a leader.  I believe in “doing the right thing” in all situations.  I am a dedicated student with both drive and ambition.  I also feel I have my priorities well set in life as I am focused on taking advantage of my college opportunity to prepare for my long term life goals.  I believe I am mature, but I also know how to have fun and not take myself too seriously when the timing is right.  I will always lead by example and strive to make the best choices to represent your program and myself in the best light possible.
