I want to study business/entrepreneurship and would love to play baseball in college. This summer, I played against some of the best in the country and I pushed myself to the next level. I am looking forward to my senior year. I take practice and games seriously, as well as, conditioning and nutrition during the off season as I do during the season and I always give my best Whenever given the opportunity.
I take my academics seriously and currently taking a few college level courses.
I believe you have to be a good example everywhere you go because you aren't just representing yourself; you are representing your family, your school and your team. Your character says a lot about who you are as a person and you never know who is watching whether it be a little kid, someone my own age or an adult. You have to be a team player and lead by example and not fall into the rut of what everyone else is doing because your spot can be taken from you and then you have to earn it back.
Most of the boys I play baseball with have played since they were old enough to stand and swing a bat. I didn't start until I was 12 years old and I was always the one put into right field and last one in the batting order, but I worked hard and earned my spot. When coach asked what day is practice, my answer was "Every Day" and every day I practice. I watch videos of myself and see what I like and don't like and work to improve. I also watch the pros to pick up any tips. I study the art of baseball in order to improve myself.
The biggest lesson I have learned in baseball is that every ball is an opportunity. An opportunity to make a great pitch, a great catch or a base hit and when the opportunity is there I must take advantage of it right then and there because you never know when the next opportunity will come.
