Personal Statement
My name is Ben Bookman, and I am currently a Junior at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have loved baseball for as long as I can remember. I have been competing since the days of T-ball, all the way through high school, and still have great passion for the game. My dream is to play college baseball. I am a good student and work hard day in and day out with in all that I do while balancing time with my family and friends.
To me, there is nothing better than being on the mound competing with my teammates, and helping my team to fight for the win. After my freshman season I suffered an injury that prevented me from pitching throughout the summer and into the beginning of my sophomore year. I hated not being able to play. I have a great appreciation for being healthy and doing what it takes off the field to stay that way. I learned a lot from that experience, and was always there to cheer on my team from the sidelines and help to keep them positive and motivated. I also enjoy playing first base and being able to hit in games. In the future, I look forward to being a successful athlete in college both on and off the field.
