Evan Wright '24 Recruiting Profile

I love baseball. I love watching and learning, but I truly love playing. Even though I’ve been playing since I was 8 years old, I appreciate continuing to learn game situations, game strategies and techniques. Over the years, watching my older brother play has only fed my competitive nature and drive to improve my skillset. To me, playing catcher is the most fun and rewarding position. I see plays as they develop, communicate quickly with my teammates then take action. I’ve been blessed to have catching instructors who played the game professionally and who are truly interested in making me the best I can be. I’ve also been fortunate to be a member of several teams where we shared our love for the game, mutual respect for each other and some great success. I look forward to continuing my academic career, while improving my baseball acumen. My goal is to play this game as long as I can; learning, growing and making meaningful relationships along the way.
