David Hill '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is David Gerald Hill. I am currently a sophomore at James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Ever since I started playing travel baseball in the Olney, Maryland baseball program, there have been three things that I bring to the table that make me a special ballplayer: hustle, intensity and speed.   My high school coaches focus on the concept of "721 baseball" meaning going all out for 7 innings and 21 outs, with our heads in the game, striving to be leaders on the field and in the dugout.  While my speed is most evident on the basepaths, and in center field, I strive to bring hustle and intensity to all aspects of playing baseball while still being a good teammate and leader.

Another thing that sets me apart from other athletes is my academic success.  I have a 3.9 GPA and a 4.43 weighted GPA.  I am currently taking 2 AP classes as a sophomore and will most likely take 5 more next year as a junior.  My academic success is proof of my work ethic and I bring the same determination to playing baseball and to improving as a ballplayer.

I will bring my positive attributes to any college baseball program and I hope that you will consider me for your program.
