My name is Malik Ibrahim, and I am in the Class of 2026. I first played baseball in my grandparents’ front yard when I was 2 years old. Ever since then I have been in love with the sport. As my baseball career progressed, I quickly realized that I wanted to play at the highest level I could, so I set goals for myself. First it was to play travel ball, then it was to play high school baseball, and now my goal is to play at the collegiate level. I have worked hard to improve my skills to achieve these goals.
If I were to describe myself as a baseball player in three words they would be determined, focused, and gifted. I am incredibly determined to achieve my athletic goals. I am also a gifted player, reliable teammate, and a leader. My coaches have told me that I am extremely coachable and that I easily form relationships with my coaches and teammates, which is essential for being successful. I will bring these valuable qualities to your baseball program.
Along with my passion for athletics, I also take my academics very seriously. I attend Belmont Hill School, an independent, all-boys school. There I am an honors student and I have excelled in several AP and advanced classes in a range of subjects. I also have a passion for ceramics which I have been taking for two years. In my freshman year, I earned High Honors recognition, which made me proud. I am involved in several extracurricular activities at Belmont Hill. I am most involved in the Sustainability Club, but I also participate in the French Club and the Capital Management Club. I also volunteer at the Food Pantry in my hometown.
I would like to attend a college that is the right fit academically and athletically, so that I can thrive in both the classroom and on the field. My goal is to play baseball at the highest level possible while gaining an excellent education. I would like to be in a college environment where I can continue to build strong relationships with teachers and coaches, with a baseball team on which I can get to know my teammates well on and off the field.
