Personal Statement
I will be attending Middlebury College in the class of 2024.
I play baseball for Deerfield Academy and the New England Ruffnecks. I am 6’3” and 210 lbs. My goal, for as long as I can remember, has always been to play college baseball.
I command all of my pitches well (4-seam, 2-seam, changeup, and curveball), and produce a lot of outs with my changeup, which is my best pitch. I also field my position and hold runners well, while producing a deceptive delivery and hiding the ball from the hitter. I am a huge competitor and leader on and off the field which is why I was elected captain for Deerfield Baseball as a junior for the 2019 season, and as a senior for the 2020 season.
This past summer, I pitched and for the New England Ruffnecks. I posted a 1.48 ERA over many starts and innings out of the bullpen. I produced a lot of ground balls and pop-ups while striking out 37 batters in 33 innings. Over the past year I made a notable jump in velocity. I am looking to make another jump in velocity this year through a routine of time in the weight room, arm care, and long toss.
In the classroom, I earned academic honors in all three terms of my freshman year as well as all three terms of my sophomore and junior years at Deerfield Academy. I enjoy engineering and design and have helped a design team at Converse design running shoes in 2016. I am also a Peer Counselor at Deerfield and am co-president of the Fly Fishing Club. I have a 1420 super-scored SAT score and a 32 ACT score.
