Personal Statement

2023 Season Highlights:

  • Undefeated Appearances in Conference (8)
  • NJCAA National Ranking TOP 10 in Wins
  • NJCAA National Ranking TOP 100 in Strikeouts
  • Team Participation: Most Innings Pitched (935), Most Appearances (18), Most Games started (10)
  • [Top 2023 Appearances: 1 Hitter, 2 Hitter & 3 Hitter]

HOW I PITCH: I win battles by reading the hitter, to isolate their weaknesses by locating my pitches in and out of the zone. Setting them up to swing at what I want them to swing at. Changing speeds is a key to my success. On my top end the inside 4 seem fastball jams quickly on RH hitters and my two seam tails drifting just outside their hitbox. My split finger is mainly used in place of an effective change-up as the difference in rotation tends to freeze hitters or misinterpret the pitch. A core element of my pitching style is the inclusion of three breaking pitches (12/6, Power Curve and Slider).

MY PRESENSE: I bring to the table an associate degree with a pursuit in Criminal Justice and over 70 credit hours. As a state qualifying wrestler I don't stress and I don't break. As a quarterback I'm smart on my feet in the moment and see developments real-time. I've always pitched - My senior high school ERA was 0.249 over 11 games. I was our college go to pitcher when we had to win this season and I won every conference game (8); as I should've to meet my goals.

I know how to encourage, be positive and fight to win. What I'm not - I'm not your Captain Giving speeches, I'm not your social butterfly of popularity, but I will be your "Eighth Player" - Not the one who's out partying at night and shows up as the all-star unphased the next day, I won't be one of the six players who follow him out and can't perform the next day. I'll be the 8th player who stays back and convinces the other 6 not to go out. I'll sacrifice for my goals and I need a coach who's going to be onboard in helping me get there.

Please contact Coach for season stats.

Justin Verlander is my ongoing inspiration for pitching and I like when he said, “I had no other interests but baseball because I never thought I’d not make it. No. Never.”  That focus has helped lead me to multiple no-hitter baseball games, an over 100 strike out season in 2019, over 100 career wins, 13 tournament wins, 7 runner-up tournament placements and a lot of fun memories of wobbly knee batters missing my curve, sinker or slider for a K.

2020 Summer Travel Ball Summary:

11 games Pitched  (9GS), 9W-2L, 42 Innings, 8 ER, 17 BB, 62 SO, 1.344 ERA, 748 #P  [as of 8/7/2020]

Using my left-hand pitching to advantage, I’ve worked hard to establish a variety of accurate pitch options including; curve-ball, sinker, slider, change-up, and the two-seam fastball.  As a left-hand batter, I’ve focused on fundamental form and technique that’s lead to good outcomes at the plate.  Being a three-year varsity baseball player with years of summer club baseball experience, I’m experienced with longer seasons of high profile and high-intensity tournament games as a winning pitcher. I feel I understand what it takes to become a college baseball player while maintaining a high GPA and staying in excellent physical shape. I’m a team player who can handle the pressure; I never get down on my teammates and remain ever humble in my approach to the game. I’m looking for a coaching staff unafraid of joining me in the challenges I’ll be facing in my transition into college on and off the field as I understand the step up in competition is going to require growth and maturity on my part. Please contact me anytime if you are interested in what I offer your baseball program!

Thank you for viewing my profile.  Playing  college baseball is a goal I have set for myself and I have worked hard to achieve my goal.  My Christian values, hard work ethic, desire to win and supportive family have kept me on track as a successful pitcher playing travel baseball since I was nine years old.  In addition to baseball I’ve played Basketball (forward), Football (QB, DE) and Wrestled (Varsity Letter and dual sport with basketball my Freshman year).  Regardless of COVID I’ve stayed non-stop active in personal workouts, playing 2020 summer travel ball, and am attending 3rd party showcases until colleges re-open with specific on-site events.

Available to participate in any upcoming Scout Camps. Contact me anytime!

* was relieved for the 4th inning due to it being a non-conference game and coach needed me to pitch again later that week for conference.  Mercied Cadillac after 3.

Training

  • Extra Innings
  • 3 years
  • Pitching instructors at Extra Innings teach players proper pitching mechanics to increase velocity and prevent injury. Topics covered through instruction and drills include the basics of throwing, balance, body control, stride, release point and follow through.
  • Backbay Prospect League
  • 1 year
  • The Prospect League is the highest level of amateur baseball played in the nation. It has been in business since 1963 and has provided professional baseball with more than 800 players—more than 175 of those reaching the majors. For this reason, plus the tradition and strength of the Prospect League, the league receives support from baseball scouts, college baseball coaches and baseball fans. The Prospect League’s new commitment to growth and strength is based upon the interest and skills of college baseball coaches and administrators—people who know talent and know the business of putting a team on the field.
  • U of M Baseball All Skills Camp
  • 1 year
  • Joined the Michigan Wolverine coaching staff and players at Ray Fisher Stadium to sharpen my game and become a complete baseball player. Campers were shown a variety of drills and techniques that include hitting, infield play, outfield play, catching, pitching, running the bases, and more in a weeklong high intensity camp and games.
