2020 Highlights

Personal Statement

I love the game of baseball. I love everything about the game. Pitching, defense, strategy, positioning, running the bases, and of course, I love the chess match between the hitter and the pitcher. It does not matter whether I am on the mound or if I am stepping into the batters box, I am ready to take control of the situation. As a player in the field, usually at shortstop, I look forward to making the play when the game is on the line. Besides playing the game of baseball - I am also a huge fan of the game. My parents have taken me to 22 different MLB ballparks and countless Minor League ballgames as well.

I could play baseball every single day, but I also recognize the importance of being well rounded. Because of this, I do my best to excel in school, where I am expected to bring home straight A's. I play many other sports and work hard at learning music. I play the drums, piano, and the saxophone. At the age of 15, I have traveled to 8 different countries and 31 different states. I played young Simba in a local production of the Lion King. I have taken part in four other school musicals / shows as well. I was a part of the school marching band as a freshman - we finished 4th in the state!

Quick Release - Great use of the quick release arm motion. Not using a long, dragged out motion to complete the task. Tactical Abilities - 87 / 100 Field Positioning - Great job position themselves in the right spot on the field based on the game situation, batter tendencies, and pitcher strategy is more likely to make a successful play. This requires good game awareness and communication with teammates. Fielding - Quickly react to balls hit back to them and make accurate throws to first base or other fielders. Physical Abilities - 87 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Balance - Showed a great deal of balance on the field and in the box. Great balance is able to generate more power and control, as well as reduce their risk of injury. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Resistance To Stress - Maintains composure in pressure situations. Great job staying focused on the task at hand. Confidence - Great confidence, didn't shy away when challenged at camp and played with a sense of urgency. Coach's Comments I thought you did a really nice job at camp. You definitely have a lot of upside as you continue to grow and improve. Your swing and actions in the infield are both very good. The biggest thing that you need to improve on, which is calm, is just explosiveness. I am really looking forward to following your progress. Strength/Explosiveness - Biggest things to work on short burst of explosion. Contact point - At times you were catching the ball little too far out in front. Speed/arm strength - A lot of that will come as you continue to get stronger and improve.
