  • Camp/Event
  • 2018 University of St. Thomas Prospect Camp
  • 1/07/18 to 1/28/18
  • The UST prospect camps are designed to work with athletes over 4 weeks allowing for the individual to retain information and see measurable results over the course of the program. Our goal is to educate you on all aspects of the game & provide you with an understanding of your own mechanics so you can be your own best coach! This is not a combine camp. You will receive real instruction from our staff and although we will evaluate each camper, we are concerned with the individual having a good experience and hopefully gain a great deal of knowledge about baseball and their individual game. Pitchers, during their 4 weeks, will be videotaped on a regular basis for comparison and evaluations, throw to catchers, throw off mounds, and are radar gunned. With a better understanding of their delivery / new conditioning and throwing techniques, pitchers will have the tools to improve their velocity – command - & arm health! This is pitching 101 and will be a great tool for any pitcher looking to pitch at the next level! Catchers will work on all aspects of catching: throwing, blocking, receiving, pitch selection, and hitting. Catchers will learn drills and exercises to get them ready for the season as well as keep their technique sharp throughout the season. Position Players will work extensively with their position coach on all aspects of each individual position focusing on technique. Players will be introduced to drills and routines to take with them to help improve & maintain their defense. Defense wins game and we will show you how to play championship caliber defense! Hitters will receive individual instruction that will work with their specific swing – no cookie cutters here! Hitters will have a better understanding of their swing mechanic and what to do to improve average and power! We would love to have you at our camp this winter – Go Tommie’s!!

Camp instructors are Augsburg Head Coach Keith Bateman and Assistant Coach Scott Lieser, along with Augsburg baseball assistant coaches and senior baseball players. • Newman's Infield Camps with the Minnesota Blizzard
  • 11/07/15 to 3/05/16
  • How many times do you get to work along side a 2x World Series Champion, minor league manager and big league coach? Having Al Newman on our Blizzard staff at the Blizzard Baseball Academy has been a surreal experience for our players (and parents!). To learn from the same manager who taught Torii Hunter, Christian Guzman and Jacque Jones and played alongside greats such as Dan Gladden, Gene Larkin and Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett is something that few players will ever get to experience. Whether it be a story, lessons learned from former big league games or learning some fielding gems, Newmie has taken our program to the next level. I think what is most appealing about Al is that his goals for the players are the same as the Blizzard's: to teach life lessons through baseball. He's a perfect fit and always look forward to working with him !
