Personal Statement
Baseball has always been an important part of my family from members coaching, umpiring and playing ball for many generations. I have played on numerous teams: School ball, Little League, Babe Ruth, Legion, USSSA, BYB and various club/traveling teams. 2018 has been a very productive year as I was a starter at catcher, my Freshman year on Varsity along with having a few trips planned to Prospect Showcases. Through my short playing time I have had many accomplishments from Runner-Up in State Little League tournament, State Championship in MBT tournament, being #1 overall direct selection for USSSA Central Region team to play in the All-American Games and Runner-Up in Gopher State tournament. When it comes to on the field I have played almost every position but primarily play shortstop, pitch, center field or catcher. Possibly my biggest performance came in 2017 when I pitched a perfect game, striking out 14 of the 15 batters faced and went 4-5 with 1 HR, 2 Doubles and 1 Single.
Beyond baseball I also play basketball and football along with a few extra curricular clubs such as Science Club. This past year I started working part-time at a diesel mechanic shop and look forward to umpiring this upcoming summer (first year eligible). I also enjoy other coaches asking me to help out younger kids in there practice along with helping many JV softball players at our school.
I have been raised with a strong work ethic when it comes to grades, work and sports and will always carry this with me as my education continues. My greatest realization is knowing that nothing I have and accomplished has been handed or given to me but has been earned by my own perseverance and hard work.
