Drew Ball '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Andrew Ball and I am 17 years old and I attend Red Wing high school in Red Wing MN. I  played AAA baseball for 7 years and made the varsity roster as a freshman. I also play at the elite level for Great Lakes Baseball Academy, which is a club comprised of athletes from the Minneapolis metro area. My primary positions are RHP and 1B.  I currently have a very good fastball and also have good command of my curveball and change up. Last season I had 60 Ks in 60 IP compared to only 18 BB. At 1B, I led our team in fielding percentage. I have led our team in extra base hits for the past 3 seasons. My approach at the plate has gotten much better over the past seasons. I have learned that as long as I have a good approach at the plate and hit the ball hard, I have done my job and results will take care of themselves. In addition to skills training, I work out with a trainer 2- 3 days a week at Ethos training center.  I currently carry a 3.8 GPA and am taking a number of advanced classes, such as, Chemistry and Geometry, and earned the honor of academic distinction this year. I am always looking to get better at the game of baseball and in academics. I will give 150% of my effort in every practice, every game and in everything I do. I would prefer to go to a school in the Midwest region but any school is fine as is it’s division. Ultimately, my goal is to play baseball at the highest level at a school where I can succeed on the field and in the classroom.
