Personal Statement
My name is Mark Wiemann, and I will be a Junior this fall at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Lees Summit, MO (a suburb of Kansas City.) I have been playing baseball since I was 9 on a competitive or club team. I have played other sports such as basketball and football, but I've always stayed true to my favorite sport, which is baseball. I have been very lucky to be able to play on teams and travel different places throughout the country. I can play (and have played) every position on the field. However, my favorite positions are 3rd base, Outfield, Pitcher and Catcher. As a freshman at SMA, I was awarded the MVP award for being the best utility player and having the highest batting average. As a sophomore, I was a varsity starter and awarded Rookie of the Year at SMA. In addition, our team won our conference and I was awarded 1st Team All Conference as a 3rd baseman and Honorable Mention- All County. I know my coaches love being able to count on me to play anywhere on the field. I give my best effort no matter what position I play. My parents have consistently taught me to play hard, have fun, and be humble. I am very competitive, and hope to play baseball for as long as I can!
