“You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.” These words from Babe Ruth, are a reflection of my heart and mindset. Life and the game of baseball are built around a series of failures. In the eleven years I have played the game, I have learned the importance of putting failures and struggles behind me by having a growth mindset, so I can continue moving forward. From tee-ball, to Spring Valley Little League, to club ball, to high school, it has always been baseball. My parents saw my dedication and passion and supported my path, because I chose it. While I am a very active individual, I am reflective too. I don’t shrink away from physical and mental challenges, even when the results I want aren’t immediate. I focus and put the work in until I achieve the results I am aiming for. Then, I continue to push on because for me, the work is never done. As a teammate, I will lay out for a ball without hesitation, and my 110% effort is unwavering regardless of the score. My teammates have always known they can depend on that in me and my coaches always have too. I am excited with the prospect of playing collegiate baseball and ready to get to work!
