Personal Statement

My short term goal is to play as much baseball as possible, train regularly, develop my skills and keep my grades high throughout high school in preparation for college and beyond. I am a very hard worker on and off the field. I'd like play competitively for a top college baseball program where I can compete for a starting role for all four years, challenge myself and earn a degree in the process.

As a natural lefty I primarily play first base and I like to play every inning of every game. I am also a LHP with pretty good velocity and control and led my conference in WHIP as a sophomore.  As a Junior I was just named a captain of my High School Varsity Baseball team and I lead my team in all batting categories. I was named to the 1st Team All-Shore Conference as a Junior and also was named a starter to the Jersey Shore team/Carpenter Cup roster this past June.  I am a team player and as a student of the game.

I have been nationally ranked by Perfect Game and received PG All American honors in both my Sophomore and Junior years and have also played for USA Baseball for many years.  In the summer I play on nationally ranked competitive Travel Baseball teams.

Although baseball is my top priority, I have always been a high honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society for many years and education is important to me. Education has always been a priority so I feel that a good education would be something I'll work hard to attain  even though my dream is to play in the MLB.

Goals of the Programs include: • Develop and prepare all serious baseball players for the upcoming season. Prepare players to exceed their past season top personal accomplishments. Take players’ position skills and knowledge to the next level. • Live workouts at full 90’ foot base and live game situation will be emphasized, to get you ready for the live competition games. Infielders • During the course of a game infielders need to execute throws from a wide variety of arm angles and body positions. All Infielders will develop a proper approach to all types of ground- balls, specific to their position and learn how to treat every throw “with a purpose. Outfielders • As an outfielder footwork and how to read the ball from the bat is key. All outfielders will work on routine ground- balls, angles of approach to ground and fly- balls, and getting a strong and accurate throw to the infield quickly. Hitting • The program is designed for hitters to do a full season of live at-bats. Hitters will learn and develop hitting skills through tee work, drills that focuses on mechanics and proper fundamentals for each individual hitter and batting practice (BP). Pitchers • All pitchers will be put on a progressive throwing program consisting of long toss, short range, flat ground and mound work. They will learn to develop "command” of their fastball (4-seam, 2-seam) regardless of how hard they throw. We will develop a change- up that feels good to each pitcher. • Defensively, we will improve quickness and awareness of pick- off moves to all bases as well as overall pitchers fielding practice.
