Personal Statement
Ever since I was four years old I could not put down a ball and bat; granted it was a tee-ball and a miniature bat. From tee-ball through high school I have been a vigorous competitor and this is evident by my performance on the field. The intensity that I have for the game expresses who I really am. What drives me to keep working and competing every day is the joy that I get from playing baseball. It’s unlike any other sport I have ever played. The crack of the bat and the sound of the ball hitting the glove brings me into my zone. There are the highs like getting a game winning hit, and the lows like losing the game by one run, but that’s what keeps me coming back for more. In simple terms, I love it!
I am in the class of 2022 and attend Glen Ridge High School in Glen Ridge, NJ. I am currently 6’2 170lbs with a slender, but athletic build. I pride myself with my outgoing, positive, and fun loving personality. I strongly believe how I carry myself off the field, makes me that much more of an impactful player on the field. I am a natural born leader. I know as a leader I need to represent my school in the best possible light. I am a leader that brings enthusiasm and lots of energy to the people around me. I make sure to be the best teammate that I can possibly be by having a positive attitude and a drive to be the best that I can at my craft. While I have a great presence on the field, I also make sure to compliment that by working hard in the classroom. With that said, I take my school grades very seriously. I make sure to maintain a high GPA while also being involved in many clubs, extracurricular activities, and community service.
I started at middle infield on my high school's varsity team since my freshman year, but am capable and willing to play wherever the coach feels I'm needed. In addition, I also play for Baseball U North in the summer where we travel to many showcases and tournaments. In the off-season I continue to stay in shape by running on the varsity cross country team where I earned 2nd team all conference my first year. Overall, I am a very hardworking student both in and outside of the classroom.
I strive to go to a medium to larger size university that is both academically and athletically challenging, yet rewarding. I want to keep my options open to see what is the best fit for me. I would like to pursue an intended major of sports management, sports broadcasting/journalism, or sports marketing. I am excited to find my new home throughout this recruiting process!
