Joel Matos '21 Recruiting Profile

. My collegiate goals and aspirations is to play baseball at a college level, at a Division 1 college. Also, I want to get coaches to notice me and invite me to big showcases, and get exposed to colleges. I am always going to give it 110% in school and outside of school also. My goals as a student is to graduate with honor roll and to get a scholarship to a Division 1 college. Ever since I can remember, I have only wanted to be a professional baseball player, and while I work everyday to reach that goal, my other goals must include me giving all I can to receive the best education I can, ensuring my success in the future. Ever since I stepped foot onto that field, my feet never wants to get off of it.  But of course, schools is first, then sports but it school I has a 3.55 GPA that is just below an A average. I come from a hometown where people sell CD's and mix tapes trying to get their name out and they end up getting shot because they think they were up to something illegal. I'm from where only 1 out of every 20 people say "I'm going to college" But I do want to go to college and get an education and possibly make it into the MLB to come back to my city and gladly say "I made it." What makes me different is I have goals and I push myself everyday to be a better player, not only that, but a better student. I focus on my school work, to me school has always been first.  What makes me a good candidate for a team is that no matter what team I'm on, I'm always going to give it 110%. Any position, any day, I'm going to be the same hard working player.
