I have been in love with the game of baseball since before I could even walk. Growing up, baseball was always on the television, and I tried my hardest to really understand the game. After a few years of playing with my father and going to local clinics, I was finally able to play t-ball at the age of 5, and have played organized baseball ever since. As a left handed pitcher, I continue to play baseball and face tougher competition. I remain determined to play the hardest I can, and to leave all I have got on the field. I have learned that using my baseball smarts results in success. For example, when I am pitching to a strong and powerful hitter, I bare down and try to hit the corners of the strike zone, and use my off-speed pitches to keep the hitter off balance. I use the same smarts in the classroom. I strive to get the best grades possible, and try to focus and study extremely diligently. I know that putting in the extra effort, whether on the field or in the classroom, will lead to success. My goal for high school is to attain the highest GPA and ACT score possible (3.5 GPA achieved freshman, sophomore & junior year and a 31 on the ACT). I plan to attend a college which will provide a solid educational foundation for my life after my baseball career is complete. I will both benefit the team for which I play on at the collegiate level and also will be a valuable asset in the classroom.
