Hugo Maria '20 Recruiting Profile

My dream is the same as every other baseball player, which is to play in the MLB. I have loved the game since I was 6 years old.  I'm the type of player that will outwork everyone else no matter what and without complaining. My academic ability is great as I have a 3.6 GPA, am in honors classes and 3 AP classes. What motivates me to achieve my goals and dreams is my family.  Also, if I get the opportunity to play at the professional level and make a lot of money, I plan to make huge donations to those in need. I believe that what makes me stand out from other players is my mental strength. The biggest challenge I have faced yet was myself. The voice inside my head would not leave me in peace. It would just keep bringing me insecurity, fear, negativity, etc.. However, I've learned to manage that better and I realized that "if there is not enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm". Something else that is very important to me is to stay humble and hungry. I will always stay hungry because baseball is my passion and I have given myself no other choice but to work hard for what I want in life.
