My name is Brendan Brinksma from Rutherford, NJ. Baseball has been a huge part of my life since I was able to crawl and pick up my first ball. As a utility player, I have played every single position at some point throughout my baseball career, but I am primarily a middle infielder or outfielder. Being 5’5” and 135 pounds, I find myself to be quick on my feet and very fluid in my movements.
Other than playing competitive baseball with the Rutherford Rakers and the NJ Aces as well as varsity baseball for Rutherford High School, I am captain for both our varsity soccer and varsity wrestling team at RHS. Participating at a competitive level for various sports has helped me grow into a very well rounded athlete and has helped me to become hard working, confident and a team player. I have a positive attitude, am coachable, and lead by example. With these qualities, I feel I would be a great asset to your team.
I want to major in either Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering, depending on the programs that are offered. Building things, watching them work, and figuring out how to make them better is a great passion of mine and I can’t wait to learn more.
I am looking to make an impact on a team at the highest competition level possible while still being able to pursue my academic goals, so I am open to all types of schools from NAIA to D1. I am motivated and eager to move forward in my academic and athletic careers and can’t wait to fulfill my dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level.
