Some history about me - In Fall of 2012 I joined Guilderland High School's cross country team to build endurance. It was 5 to 6 miles everyday, minimum, 5 days a week. I hated running. Dreaded running. And now, it's become routine for me to the point where I don't feel it's laborious. All of this was to reach one goal: to earn a spot on the Guilderland Varsity Baseball roster. I'm happy to report I was successful in reaching my goal, and I officially became a Guilderland Varsity Catcher, where I played an important role in having our team advance to the semi-final round in the Section 2 Class AA Suburban Council last season.
This past summer I was the starting catcher for Schenectady's Electric City Charge 16U College Showcase Team (http://www.hitnrun-sports.com/Showcase.html) where I traveled to ball fields throughout the northeast. We ended our last tournament of the season with a championship win at The Vermont Outlaws Summer Showcase. Playing for this team gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level with other players who felt the same way, all in the hopes to prepare for and play college ball.
Right now I am playing fall ball with The Guilderland Bulldogs and look forward to a competitive season of baseball. The last tournament we will be playing in is the "2013 Columbus Day Wood Bat 18U Championship" - October 11-14 at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, NY (Long Island) http://leagues.baseballheavenli.com/ordereze/ULeagues/1239/2021/Registered.aspx. We'll be wearing red jerseys, white pants and I'll be starting behind the plate wearing #8.
In preparation for college, I am currently building up my portfolio, to join a graphic design program, ultimately earning a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. If I can find a college where I can do my two favorite things: baseball and drawing, I will know that all of my hard work will have paid off.
