Personal Statement

I was introduced to baseball at a young age from my father and three older brothers. Growing up with three older brothers gave me a competitive spirit not only for baseball and academics, but everything I do. I love the game, I love to work, and I love to compete. I was taught to play the game with integrity, and to be a “sponge” in practice and school. I believe these are the tools, and components that are going to find me a place on a baseball roster at the next level.

2/15/21 Physical: Lean, compact 5-foot-7, 152-pound developing frame. Above-average athleticism present with a 7.31 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, traditional setup as the barrel started at the shoulder. Utilized an early leg lift stride in order to initiate the hands through a flat path into the hitting zone; held an upright posture while hitting into a stiff front side. Notched an impressive 42% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball showing feel for the hands at the plate. Peppered the middle of the field with hard contact, getting up to an 85 mph peak bat-exit velocity during batting practice. A 23.2 mph hand speed led to a quick trigger in the approach and an 81% on-plane efficiency points towards current bat to ball skills present. Defensively: The primary shortstop could really pick it in the middle; got to a fluid, attacking position at the fielding window picking the hop that best suited him and approached with confidence. Made multiple tough plays look easy where he picked it clean from a short hop, flowing right into the throw phase with rhythm. Impressive movements with an arm strength to back it up (82 mph).
