Personal Statement
My name is Dylan Barnhart. I have loved sports and being outdoors for as long as I can remember, which is what drew me to baseball initially. However, it became much more than a game to me, it became a part of me. The passion that I developed for the game is what has driven me to be the best that I can, which has made me a better person and teammate. The skills I have learned on the field have helped push me to become who I am today. I learned from catching how to be calm and confident in my decision making skills. It has allowed me to be a better leader on and off the field. On the field I love to win but I know there are lessons to be learned from failures as well. Those failures motivate me to improve each and every day. This desire to improve is the foundation of my strong work ethic. Another reason I love the sport is because of the bonds that I have formed throughout the years that have led to life long friendships that I thought I would never have. Having formed these bonds has provided me with many life lessons.
It has always been my goal to play college baseball and with my work ethic I believe I will be able to successfully attain my goal. Just like I have challenged myself on the field, I have done the same in the classroom taking Honors and AP classes. If granted the opportunity to play at the collegiate level you will never have to question my dedication.
