Hello, I am Eli Mortimer and I attend Tri-Valley High School (Class of 2018) in Dresden, Ohio. I have played baseball since the age of 5 and my love for the game has grown immensely as I have matured. I believe that my two best traits are that I am both coachable and tenacious. I exhibit these traits in both parts of being a student-athlete. I maintain a healthy balance between my commitments to my academics, athletics and community and I believe that I will maintain that balance in college. I hope to find a university and baseball program that will help mold me as a young man and prepare me for my future and other walks of life.
I view the opportunity of playing collegiate baseball as an instance in which I can contribute to both a baseball program and a university community that I love. I welcome the challenges that will come with being a collegiate student-athlete and see this as a time for personal growth. On the field, I am a dynamic player, as well as a selfless and positive influence to a team. I am open to playing in whatever position best helps the team, but I see myself and my skill set being best suited for the outfield. In the class room, I will continue to work diligently to maintain my high academic standards and achieve my student goals. Furthermore, in my new community, I will seek to help others and continue my acts of service to those around me. As both a student and an athlete, I will treat others with respect and act with the conscious principle that I am a representative of my team, university, and family.
