Tyler Hewlett '21 Recruiting Profile

I started playing the game of baseball at the age of 5. I played many different positions but I really liked being a catcher. At the age of 10, my team won the county Knothole championship and I was the catcher. We went on to compete in the city tournament and beat some great teams and placed 3rd in the city. This was a major accomplishment at an early age that greatly contributed to my passion for baseball. Being a catcher entitles great leadership and controlling the game. I love this aspect about being a catcher and this is what drives me to be the best I can be.

Going into my senior season, I have put on 15 lbs of muscle by lifting 6 days a week and working on my baseball skills with my mentor and baseball instructor to prepare myself for college baseball. I catch pens for many different pitchers, including D1 commits, on a weekly basis. I have applied myself academically taking honors and advanced placement classes and maintaining a high GPA (3.75), 4.38 weighted. I have a great work ethic and have improved all areas of my game this year. I love baseball and want to play as long as I can. I am on a mission to follow my passion and fulfill my goal of playing at the next highest level. I am looking for a great competitive program where I can help contribute to their success.
