Matthew Thomas '14 Recruiting Profile

Have been playing baseball for 13 years thus far. Currently a part of Williston State College, as a RHP/OF, and have been a Varsity starter for the Notre Dame High School Fighting Irish since my freshman year. I have been playing Premier level baseball for the past 4 years for Team Ontario 18U, recently being selected on the USA Select Team to travel to the Dominican in the summer of 2014, and returning from being selected as the only Canadian on an all U.S. elite team which traveled to Germany and the Czech Republic in the summer of 2013 to compete against both National and Professional teams. Majority of my playing career has taken part throughout the Midwest and Southern States competing against Nationally ranked teams as well as numerous draft picks and Division I signees on a regular basis. I pride myself in having an outstanding work ethic, by practicing 4-5 times per week on my own, as well as a full 7 days a week spent in the weight room. Academics are a strong point of mine as well, maintaining a 3.1 GPA thus far, along with various academic awards. My goals are to compete and excel in both my academics and baseball at the College level in the United States, with making it to the Majors in the future.
