When I first started playing baseball, I didn't know how serious I would want to take my game, but over the years I developed a love and a competitive mindset for the game. Every year I would play for a higher skill level team then the last team, taking baseball more and more serious with each year, until I reached the top level team in our area. I formed my life around baseball. I dropped 11 years of competitive ice hockey to pursue my baseball dream; playing at the collegiate level.
Baseball is something that runs in my blood. My great uncle was an amazing baseball player, earning a spot in the Newfoundland Hall of Fame. He is the man I strive to be and was my biggest influence in taking baseball competitively. Baseball is a sport I want to take to the collegiate level. Baseball helped me realize how important my academics are. I know that if I want a shot at playing at the collegiate level I'm going to have to hit the books and work my ass off. Being from Canada, the chance to live, meet new people, and experience life outside of our border would be a dream.
