Hello, my name is Callum Blue, I attend Garth Webb Secondary School in Oakville, ON Canada. I am a Right Handed Pitcher and 1st Baseman for my club team the Oakville A's, I am a diehard LA Dodgers fan and a huge Trevor Bauer fan, I am a very smart kid in my opinion and my grades can say stuff too, I average 80%-88% throughout all my classes, I take science class very seriously because I like to learn about physics in baseball (RPM, spin rate, how a ball moves and how releasing it makes a very big difference, velocity) and learning about biology and biomechanics is also tremendously important to me because I love learning about how my body moves in the pitching position and I enjoy better understanding my body, I signed up for a physics course PDF in the summer of 2020 and it was on Newtonian Physics, I found that it really helped me better understand the RPM off my pitches and my spin rate, I also found it let me understand how fast I am throwing. I throw 8 pitches, 4-Seam Fastball, 2-Seam Fastball, Changeup, Cutter, Slider, Curveball, Splitter, Slurve. Fastball, Change up and curveball are my best pitches, I am trying to get my slider to be another one of my best pitches because if I can nail that pitch down I feel it will be very hard to hit.
I am a multi sport athlete, I have been playing hockey for 11 years and I am a goalie, I love the pressure in a big game situation, In the playoffs of 2020 I posted an 11-1 record with 8 shutouts over that period helping my team get to the Ontario championships, due to COVID our final round was cancelled and we never got to play for the championship. Over the pandemic and quarantine I found a blooming interest in taking pitching way more serious, I am a big follower of Trevor Bauer and I love his pitch theory and how everyone thinks it is weird and stupid, I love implementing some of his ideas into my pitch theory.
My pitching regiment and throwing program is very unique, I throw 6 days a week and lift 7 days a week, I throw weighted balls, shoulder tube, arm weights, J-Bands and do much more for warm up, for my throwing program, Mondays and Wednesdays are regular throwing days (60 FT light throwing) Tuesdays and Thursdays are bullpen days (60 FT, 30 pitches, mix of grips), Fridays and Sundays are my long toss days, (Start at 80 FT and slowly work my way up until I get to 250 FT, on somedays I will move to 300 FT) always making sure its nice light throws up in the air.
To me, playing college baseball and getting drafted is my dream, I've always wanted to be a D1 NCAA athlete and playing at the college level in front of the atmosphere and playing for a national championship has always been my dream. I think the one thing that has helped me through everything is my mentality, I don't want to be the next Jacob DeGrom or the next Clayton Kershaw, I want to be the next me I wanna be the next Callum Blue, I want to walk in a room and people know my name. I am not a cocky kid or a kid who showboats, all I am is confident in myself, I don't care about peoples opinion on me whether they think my training regiment is weird or not, I do well in school, I treat my family and friends with respect, I work hard, I train daily and I am going to be a college athlete but I just need to be patient in the process of recruiting and commiting to a college D1 school
