Academically I pride myself in having good marks and putting in the work. With an interest in Engineering and Kinesiology I am striving towards a job in Sports Science and Technology or Sports Therapy. I take pride in my schooling as much as I do my drive to be the best baseball player I can be.
I am a multi-sport athlete that has played baseball, lacrosse, and hockey all at the Rep level. Playing these sports has made me a well-rounded athlete that can play anywhere on the field. I recently stopped playing hockey as a goaltender to concentrate on baseball, giving me more time to spend on the details in my game. Being a hockey goaltender helped make me an excellent blocker behind the plate and enhanced my ball tracking abilities. Even when I'm not on the field I like to stay engaged with my teammates discussing the game and helping them with their game. I believe in leading by example with hard work and a positive attitude. I like to spend time and stay connected with my pitchers so when game time comes, we are on the same page and understand each other.
I was fortunate enough to play on hockey teams that went undefeated for 3 straight seasons going 137-0 winning 4 All-Ontario championships. During these seasons I learned much less than I did from seasons in other sports when we didn't win, pushing me to work harder and become the athlete I am today. My passion for catching in baseball is from my love for the technical side of the game and the little details. Raised by parents who both love sports and a father that played professional lacrosse I was raised to focus on effort and skill sets. Our family motto is "Effort is Everything, the results will take care of themselves". I play baseball with a next pitch mentality whether behind the plate or at the plate. As a goaltender in hockey, I quickly learned to have a short memory and mastered the ability to move on after being scored on. This has become a huge advantage for me in baseball, giving me the ability to forget about a mistake and play on.
