Josh Golden '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2019/20 uncommitted SS/2B/OF from the Ontario Blue Jays. I’m 5’10, 160 lbs. My 60-yard dash time is 6.71 (timed last November). My game revolves around primarily being a very reliable defensive player, but I am also someone who can hit for power/average. In 30 games played this summer season (led team), I hit .418 (2nd on team) with a .518 OBP (2nd on team) and a 1.122 OPS (2nd on team).  I was also first on the team in runs (33), plate appearances (113), hits (38), triples (4), while being second on the team in RBI (26) and only striking out 8 times.  I hit in the leadoff spot and played shortstop the majority of the season as our team won our league championship and made the championship round of the Connie Mack World Series Qualifier.

I want to come into a program and play whatever role it takes to help the team win games. I am primarily a middle infielder, but just as comfortable playing the outfield.  I have been utilized in both infield and outfield roles, and I am confident playing any position outside of pitcher and catcher.  

This fall season I will be travelling with OBJ again on our annual Fall Collegiate Trip where we play some of the top NJCAA and NCAA schools (UVA, ISU, Iowa, Penn State, Florida State, UAB, Wabash Valley, Connors State, Indian Hills, JCCC, etc.).  This being my second year on the trip, I feel like it will accustom me to top D1 competition and allow me to help a program win ballgames come 2020.
