Luka Dodig '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is Luka Dodig. Currently I'm 18 years old and in my senior (grade 12) year at Holy Cross Catholic Academy in Vaughan. I’ve been playing baseball for 12 years now, and it’s truly become my passion. Baseball is my favourite thing to do and ultimately what’s most important to me is doing my job so that my team's chances of winning are higher and that comes from me being focused and prepared when called on. I do everything that I can to help my team as I'm a committed and coachable team-first selfless player. I selected Holy Cross as they offer a very popular High Performance Athlete (HPA) program that allows athletes more freedom and flexibility with their academics while at the same time providing a higher standard of competition and opportunity. Another thing I'm proud of is maintaining a solid 4.0 GPA through grade 12, and I'm confident that I'll be able to keep that up for the remainder of the year, eventhough the courses and curriculum get more challenging.  When I graduate in 2025 my dream is to earn the opportunity to play baseball for a top college or university, to compete and to help them win and to continue pursuing my education at a very high level. I am a hard worker, a good teammate, coachable, and will do whatever is necessary to help my team. I believe in participating in physical activities and working/studying hard, because it helps me lead a healthy and balanced life. My dad works in the field of nutrition, so I believe in taking care of my body, which will help me become more of an asset to my team to help them perform better and ultimately win. My ultimate dream is to one day I'll play baseball in the major leagues and be able to help inspire others who are starting out in sports. I can be counted on to get on base as traditionally I'm a .350 to .400 hitter (from the left side) with a .500 OBP.  I'm also a plus defender with a strong arm from any OF position.  I still have a lot to learn and a lot of room to grow and develop over the next few seasons. I'm just very thankful and excited about having this opportunity to reach my goals.  I look forward to hearing from you.
